DZONGRI TREK WEST SIKKIM (4050 mt.)

Day 01:Gangtok / Darjeeling / Bagdogra – Yuksom
Meet on arrival at Bagdogra Airport / Darjeeling/Office of Siniolchu Travels in Gangtok and drive to Yuksom, The first capital of Sikkim and The Trek base for West Sikkim. All drives takes approx.5-6 Hrs and cross Sikkim Check Posts and Entry Points. Its mandatory to have Sikkim permits along with India Visa.. if not, Sikkim permits can be done on arrival at all check points for free.
Reach Yuksom via Melli / Jorethang / Naya Bazar / Legship / Tashiding and to Yuksom.

Day 02:Trek Begins from Yuksom for Tshoka, Alt.2048m/12 kms/6 hrs. O/N Tents / huts Trek from Yuksom to Tshoka 18 Kms time taken approx. 6 hrs. Walk through dense forest of pine and oak. After crossing river Prek Chu it is straight 70 degree uphill climb this is the toughest stage in the entire. Treks then we reach Bakhim the trail from Bakhim passes through magnolia and rhododendron trees. Tshoka is a small village. Overnight stay in a tent or lodge
 

Day 03:Trek Tshoka to Dzongri, Alt 4050 m/9 kms/5 hrs. O/N tents/huts
Trek from Tshoka to Dzongri is still a steep climb taking approx 5hrs. This leads us through dense forest of rhododendrons. There are over 400 flowering species in Sikkim. A place called Deorali Dara provides a magnificent view of the mountains. Once we reach Phidang we take a break. After further climbing we reach Dzongri, here the vegetation is thin and only small bushes and shrubs are found. A tourist hut is available for the night stay. Day 04: Acclimatization and excursion at Dzongri. O/N in tents/huts. It is usually overcrowded and noisy. A walk to Dabla Khang( DzongriTop) in the wee hours of the morning provides one of the most magnificent view of the mountains and the whole range of the peaks can be seen.
Acclimatization here is must for further ascending trekkers. Overnight stay in a tent.
 
Day 05: Dzongri to Tshoka This trek is of the return to did while you came up from Tshoka to Dzongri. The overnight will be either in camps of the Tshoka Village Home Stays.
 

Day 06: Tshoka to Yuksom
Resume trekking Phalut to Ramam, From Phalut the trail descends through the virgin forest of chestnut, pines, hemlock etc. till the trail reaches the meeting of two streams called Gorkhey Khola. It’s a picture postcard place. One can enjoy the bath and savor midday meal. Resume trekking via Samandin to Ramam Trekkers Hut. Its about 5 hours trek from Phalut or 15-km.in distances from Phalut.

Day 07:Yuksom – Gangtok / Pelling / Darjeeling / Bagdogra
This is a driving tour to your required destination and we could assist you also on planning further trips as required. Trip ends.
